Ear, Nose & Throat Associates of New York, P.C.

Among First in Nation to Perform

Balloon Sinuplasty as In-Office Procedure

NEW YORK-According to the University Of Pennsylvania School Of Medicine, rhino-sinusitis (i.e. sinus inflammation, post-nasal drip, nasal congestion, cough, headache and facial pain) is one of the most common medical complaints in the U.S.  In fact, there are approximately 350,000 sinus surgeries reported each year.

Traditionally, when performing sinus surgery, physicians would snake special tools up the patient’s nose then remove inflamed tissue and bone in an attempt to enlarge the sinus openings.  Although highly effective, it can be painful and take at least a week for the swelling to subside.  Sometimes even resulting in scar tissue that could re-block the sinus; thus requiring a repeat visit to your local operating room.

Recently however, a new procedure was introduced that enables physicians to obtain the same result with less pain and faster recovery.  The procedure is called ‘sinuplasty,’ or balloon sinuplasty. During the procedure, physicians snake a microscopic balloon up the patient’s nose then expand it to stretch their sinus passages enabling patients to breathe easier.  Best of all, the procedure is now being performed at your local doctor’s office, with Ear, Nose & Throat Associates of New York, P.C, being among the first in the nation to provide this service to their patients.

Established in 1969, Ear, Nose & Throat Associates of New York, P.C. is one of the largest multi-specialty practices of its kind with offices located throughout Queens, Nassau, Suffolk, and Bronx. All of their physicians are Board Certified and have been trained at some of the nation's most highly recognized medical schools and residency programs. Many continue to hold university faculty appointments at regional medical colleges, and are actively involved in teaching.

Given their degree of expertise, as well their reputation within the medical community, it is only befitting that they be one of the first to provide this unique and innovative service as an in-office procedure.  For additional information about Ear, Nose &Throat Associates of New York, P.C. and the ‘sinuplasty’ procedure, or to simply schedule a consultation with one of their qualified Otolaryngologists and Allergists, contact 1-877-ENT-8080 or visit www.nyents.com.
