STAFF AUDIOLOGIST – FLUSHING, NY:

Examine patients and evaluate hearing and balance disorders to determine diagnoses and courses of treatment. Perform audiologic evaluations including otoacoustic emissions testing, tympanometry, electrophysiological examinations (ABR and ENG), including Brain Stem Evoked Response tests, visual evoked potentials, electronystagmography, and posturography for the assessment of the vestibular system utilizing specialized instruments and electronic equipment that include but are not limited to audiometers, auditory brainstem response (ABR) screening systems, videonystagmography (VNG) and dynamic posturography. Conduct hearing aid evaluations and tinnitus evaluations. Counsel and instruct patients and their families in techniques to improve hearing and communication related to hearing loss. Consult with educators, physicians, physical and occupational therapists, psychologists, speech-language pathologists, and other health care personnel as required. Perform research related to hearing problems and report findings to assist in the development of procedures, technology, or treatments.  


Applicant must have a Doctorate Degree in Audiology. Must be licensed to practice as an Audiologist in the State of New York and must have a Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology from the American Speech Language and Hearing Association. Must have extensive and in-depth knowledge and understanding in Audiology including knowledge of the techniques required to properly diagnose hearing and balance related disorders. Excellent communications, interpersonal skills are required to counsel and provide instructions to patients and their families in techniques to improve hearing and communication related to hearing loss. 40 hours per week; M-F, 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Must have proof of legal authority to work in the United States.
